At work story. I work in a bakery, once a server came in to pick up some bread, because the restaurant ran out and they needed it that day, they couldn't wait for delivery the next day. He is standing with my coworker and she turns to me and says " Sourdough. Two pound. Unsliced." I slapped my hand down and made a buzzing noise and said "Things you find in a bakery!" The waiter was trying so hard not to laugh. She said "What? No, I need the (restaurant name) order!" I said "Next time trying making sentences from the beginning of the conversation, it makes communication easier." She said "I don't have time for this!" So I said "And yet, if you would have just acted like a normal person, this whole thing wouldn't have happened and this gentleman could have already been in his way with his bread. But nooo, you had to pull this crap!" The look on the waiters face was priceless, his eyes were huge and I thought his smile would rip his face in half. I helped him take his bread to the car and told him to have a nice day and a pleasant shift. He looked at me, smiling and said "It's already great!". My boss and GM are friends with the restaurant owner, I don't know if they know anything about that whole thing, because no one ever said anything to me about it.

I personally don’t mind if they get straight to the point and I don’t see myself as a human being when I’m working because the workload and expectations that management puts on us makes it seem like we ARE indeed robots. My personality and human side comes out after work hours.

The way people treat serving staff never fails to amuse me. My sister and I had a restaurant and to keep costs down we would wait tables and people were phenomenally rude and entitled. It was always highly amusing when an entitled/rude customer would complain and ask to speak to the manager when we were serving them
